HSER is the first priority for Reclaimit consultants. Why? When poorly managed, these factors will stop a project dead in its tracks. When properly managed, however, these elements lay the foundation for a truly successful project
H: Health – Project work is done by people, so worker health is foundational to project success. Human factors impact project performance but also run the risk of being overlooked; these factors, such as physical fitness, fatigue, mental health and emotional stresses, to name a few, must be identified, accommodated for and managed through to the finish of project work. Experience has taught us that not getting this right will directly and negatively impact project safety as well as quality, and financial results.
S: Safety – The design, implementation, and follow through of safe work processes will directly impact the output of environmental projects. Seasoned environmental consultants within the Reclaimit team know that, in addition to jeopardizing human well being, substandard safety practices result in project down time and associated costs that are exponentially higher than taking the time to do a task, first time, right time, every time. The Reclaimit team, like its preferred customers, want to avoid human injury at all cost and would rather keep people working than spend time filling out reports, conducting incident investigations, repairing or replacing damaged infrastructure or sidelining workers from doing what they were hired to do in the first place, fix the environmental problem.
E: Environment – Reclaimit environmental consultants are engaged to provide solutions to environmental problems, not add to them. And that is what Reclaimit does best; optimization of environmental results while accounting for ongoing impacts and any environmental risks associated with the projects.
Reclaimit consultants incorporate cutting edge and reduced-disturbance methodologies into planning. Our leaders look over the fence, beyond Alberta and Canada, to find new and better systems and processes to obtain better environmental results for our customers. And to make certain that the cost of developing those new ideas is withdrawn from the right bank account, Reclaimit consultants engage qualified research teams in our own backyard to assist in concept vetting, before they reach a client’s in-basket.

R: Reputation – For Reclaimit, a solid environmental performance and respected reputation go hand in hand, but both are tough to establish and easily lost. Clearly, no one wants the spotlight taken off excellent environmental outcomes and redirected onto a damaging or distracting event. Our clients’ reputations are highly regarded by Reclaimit consultants and all environmental management recommendations submitted for consideration are designed to enhance the stewardship reputations of our customers.
All of our environmental consultants are registered members in good standing with an appropriate professional association and are qualified to work within their realm of expertise. Consultation with outside experts is sought when necessary to ensure that all recommendations align with current best practices for the project context.
